Milk Jug Easter Basket — A great Easter Craft for Kids

Posted in Art, Art Projects, Arts and Crafts, Craft Projects, Easter, Easter Baskets, Family, Kids at 4:36 am by Michelle

Here is a great Easter craft for children to make other than Easter eggs. Children will have a great time with this art project, that allows them to create their very own Easter Bunny Basket. Mine have done this for years and each year they figure out different ways to decorate their easter basket. I wish you all a Happy Easter!

What you need

  • 1 clean milk jug with it’s lid
  • 1 bag of cotton balls,
  • construction paper (white, pink, and black) , white glue, and 2 googly eyeballs (optional)

What you do

  1. Stand your milk jug upright and cut a hole just above the handle. This hole must be large enough for your hand to fit inside of it.
  2. Cover your jug with glue and then cover with cotton balls. To avoid rough
edges on the opening of the jug, take each cotton ball and glue half of one
onto the inside and then wrap it over the cut edge.
  3. Glue 2-3 cotton balls on the end of the milk jug lid for it’s tail.
  4. Take and cut out two sets of bunny ears one large set out of white construction paper and one slightly smaller set out of pink. Glue the ears to the top of the Basket so they can stand up. Cut out whiskers, nose, & eyes (could use googly eyes or makers) out of construction paper.
  5. Add Easter grass to the inside of the basket and have an Easter Egg Hunt

Here are some other great ways that people have found to decorate their Easter Baskets.

Chihuahua Puppies

Posted in Chihuahuas, Dogs, Family, Puppies at 6:05 pm by Michelle

One of my chihuahuas just had her first litter of puppies. I might be a little bias but I think that these are the cutes ones that I have seen yet.

This is the only female out of the entire litter.

Aren’t these babies adorable! I am thinking about getting them each a puppy baby blanket and a comfort heart pillow to help relieve their separation anxiety when they leave home. I think its more to the point that I think they are just to cute to resist. Look at the pictures below.

Kids Birthday Party Ideas By Low Jeremy

Posted in Kids at 3:04 am by Michelle

Here is a great article written by Low Jeremy. He gives some great party ideas for children’s birthday.

Fun Childrens Party Games by Low Jeremy

A children’s party would be nothing without enough entertainment, especially since kids pay more attention to how the party is planned and carried out than types of food are being served. Thus, if you want your child’s party to be a total blast, you need to think up fun children’s party games that would have him or her and the guests talking about the event for days.

Just add a little creativity and you can successfully pull off a rocking children’s party. The games suggested here work for almost any kids’ party – not just birthdays. Why, they can even be fun for child-like adults!

Treasure or Scavenger Hunt

Children live for wonder and new discoveries. Why not set up a treasure hunt that would test their analytical and motor skills? Some ideas include hiding goodie bags and handing out pieces of paper containing clues on how to find the bags. Draw a map to the “treasure”. Or you can do an Easter egg hunt type of hunt. Hide pieces of the same object all over the yard and let the children look for them.

Pin the X on the X

This game is a staple of children’s birthday parties. This can be pin the tail on the donkey, pin the hat on the sailor, pin the earrings on the queen, or whatever. You can be creative with this portion. These are pin the tail games readily available at party supplies shops, but you can also make these yourself for a more personal touch. Get a piece of poster paper and draw on it, depending on your child’s preference. You can even ask your kid to draw on it prior to the party.

Pinata

Perhaps one of the most common elements of traditional children’s birthday parties is the pinata. To make one, use a grocery bag garbed with nice and colorful ornaments and paper, and fill with various kinds of goodies and sweets. This game requires space and adult assistance, because it involves the use of a stick. Also, not all pinata goodies need to be edible. You can put in little toys and stickers, and other party favors, as well.

Bring Me

This game is not just for the kids but also for the adults present at the party. The host gathers the children to one area and tells them to bring him or her random things. Adults get to participate because they’ll most likely be the ones supplying the ‘bring me’ items.

No children’s party will be complete without games. Remember, you’re dealing with kids here, so you have to keep them interested and entertained all the time.

Posted in Family, Quick Meals, Recipes at 7:11 pm by Michelle

Here is another quick and easy recipe for moms on the go.  This meal can be prepared in under 30 minutes. It combines the flavor of Cajun seasoning, chicken, and asparagus for a delicious nutritious meal.

You will need the following:

  • 12 ounces of asparagus spears
  • 1 tablespoon of flour
  • 2 teaspoons of Cajun seasoning
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breast
  • 2 teaspoons of olive oil
  • 1 cup of shredded carrots
  • 1/2 cup of chicken broth

Snap off and discard bases from asparagus. Slice into 1-inch pieces; set aside. In a shallow dish combine flour and Cajun seasoning. Coat chicken with flour mixture. Simmer uncovered for about 8 minutes or until chicken is done and vegetables are tender. Make sure and stir vegetables occasionally.
